Dr. P Ramasamy

Dr. P Ramasamy is Assistant Professor of Cardiology at PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, Coimbatore. He is an experienced Physician and Cardiologist, having been in medical practice since 1989.  

Dr. P Ramasamy completed his MBBS from Madurai Medical College in 1988. He then served as Medical Officer in the Army Medical Corps for five years. From April 1994 to August 1996, he was Medical Officer at Salem Steel Plant Hospital at Salem in Tamil Nadu.

Dr. Ramasamy then studied and trained for the MD (General Medicine) postgraduate degree at Coimbatore Medical College, while also serving as Registrar, and was awarded the MD degree in September 1999. He then returned to Salem Steel Plant Hospital for a second stint of 64 months up to January 2005, this time as Consultant - Medicine. 

The next three years were spent as Registrar in the Department of Cardiology at G Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital, Coimbatore, in preparation for the Diplomate of National Board (DNB) examination in Cardiology, which he cleared in April 2008. He has been working at PSG Institute since then.

Dr. P Ramasamy has several publications to his credit and has presented some of his papers at cardiology conferences. He has won several awards during the span of his medical career in the army and subsequently. Teaching and research interest him as much as medical practice. He possesses good communications skills, and has remained an enthusiastic, energetic, reliable and conscientious team worker.
